Bill Bien - CEO/Acting CMO
Bill brings more than 20 years of global experience in service provider and enterprise solutions, telecommunications, and IP Networking to vault 6connect into its next phase of growth and innovation. Most recently, he led sales and marketing at People Power, a Silicon Valley startup that provides mobile applications and cloud controls for the Internet of Things, and before that led enterprise and government marketing and business development for Telstra, a global leader in telecommunications innovation. This built upon his experience in corporate strategy, finance and sales at Cisco Systems. Bien holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford Law School and a BA degree in Economics and Chinese from the Ohio State University.
Aaron Hughes - President & CTO
With over 20 years of experience in advanced systems and network designs, Aaron has built and deployed IPv6 networks for the last 10 years for various organizations including branches of the Federal Government. Aaron teaches network automation and management strategies at conferences around the World, and is a well recognized thought leader in the IPv6 space.
Pete Sclafani - CIO & Co-Founder
Pete has over 10 years of experience in building and deploying datacenter and related infrastructure including systems administration. Most recently at UnitedLayer, a regional provider of colocation and cloud services, Pete led product development efforts and business process automation for the operations team. Pete’s prior positions include multiple roles in Product/Program Marketing and Management in the network security and social networking fields. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Santa Clara University and a M.S. in Information Assurance from Norwich University.
Anna Claiborne - VP of Engineering
Anna joined 6connect in January, 2012 and has over 18 years of industry experience in security and software development which includes a successful tenure at Terremark. As Product Manager for Security Services, she oversaw product development and product line management for Managed Security Services supporting regulations such as GLBA and PCI. With a passion for solving complex problems in technology, Anna has been a developer on numerous applications including high-volume credit card processing systems and medical billing programs. In 2004, Anna co-founded Prolexic Technologies, the world’s largest and most trusted Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation provider. Anna is very active in the security and networking communities and has spoken on many topics surrounding DDoS. She currently serves on the Peering Forum Board and is frequently involved in activities with the North American Network Operators Group (NANOG). Anna has a B.S. in Genetics from University of California, Davis.
Mike Sullivan - CFO
Mr. Sullivan has a unique advantage having spent many years in industry in high level finance and general management positions. Mr. Sullivan served as CFO and Vice President of Finance for Digital Island, Inc., a company that was publicly traded until its sale. Prior to Digital Island, Mr. Sullivan served as VP Operations and CFO for Tut Systems Inc., a publicly traded company, a networking company that develops and manufactures networking hardware products that utilize existing copper wire infrastructure to transmit data at very high speeds. Mr. Sullivan is a licensed CPA and is licensed to practice accounting in California and Oregon. Mr. Sullivan earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
PJ Gallagher - VP of Operations
PJ has over 15 years of experience in the network, data center and content distribution service provider industry. He has helped build and manage the deployment of large scalable networks throughout the world.
Debbie Casey - Director, UK Sales and Business Development
Debbie joined 6Connect in January 2013, with over 25 years of networking experience working with and for equipment manufactures and integrators in the UK. Most recently Debbie Co-Founded Bedrock Networks Ltd – a UK network integration company focused on selling and supporting high performance Ethernet switching and security products into the service provider and higher education markets. Having grown the business exponentially over 3 years the business was successfully sold to a UK AIM listed company. Prior to Bedrock, Debbie Co-Founded Extreme Networks UK Ltd, and was instrumental in growing the UK Company from $0 to a turnover of $25M in 4 years.
